The Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations (PghCHR) strives to provide everyone who works in, lives in, or visits the City of Pittsburgh with information about civil rights. We offer free training, presentations, webinars, and handouts. 

Some examples of possible training presentations:

Fair Housing for Landlords This training is done in collaboration with the Fair Housing Partnership of Greater Pittsburgh.  From the Fair Housing Act to the Pittsburgh City Code, this training covers the rights and responsibilities of housing providers with real-world examples and scenarios.  landlords, property managers, real estate agents  3 hours
 Home Ownership and Fair Housing  Looking to purchase a home? You have fair housing rights. Learn more about both rental and purchasing rights with this training.  general public  1 hour
 Service and Support Animals  Review the differences between service and support animals, including when and where they are legally permitted and how to advocate for yourself as an owner or trainer.  general public  2 hours
 Employment Discrimination: Considerations for Unions  Did you know that employment decisions made by unions are subject to reporting requirements under employment discrimination law? Learn more about how to help your membership and protect yourself from potential discrimination complaints.  union stewards and leadership  1.5 hours
 Know Your LGBTQIA+ Rights  This training breaks down the legal protections for members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are facing discrimination.   general public  1 hour
 Employment Discrimination: The Administrative Process  This training is done in collaboration with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). We cover the procedural differences between filing a discrimination complaint with the EEOC versus the Commission, and how to best utilize our local agency to get results for your clients.  attorneys  3 hours
