NOTE: The current Snow Response Dashboard is not comprehensive. Some already-treated routes, like in Brookline, Highland Park, and Squirrel Hill, will not show on this map due to data limitations, and we are working to correct that as soon as possible. In the meantime, see the Snow Route Coverage map for a more comprehensive view.

This is a more comprehensive view of snow vehicle route coverage. Colored roads (brown and blue) show where vehicles have driven to plow and/or salt the roads.

How can I help Public Works treat my street?

When driving:

  • Don’t drive if you don’t have to!
  • If you can delay your trip to allow our crews to get deicing and/or anti-icing materials down please do so.
  • If you do, give the plow operators space to operate.

When parking:

  • Don’t park your car on a corner.
  • If you have the ability to move your car off the street, we encourage you to do so.
  • Don’t park your car too far in the street.

When shoveling:

  • Don’t shovel your snow into your street.
  • Don’t clear your car into the street; clear it before you’re driving.

Please be patient and give our crews the time needed to treat over 1,200 miles of streets.

1/25 11:35 AM Update

The Department of Public Works will have around 60 active trucks treating roads today from 2 PM to 10 PM.

1/25 8:40 AM Update

The City of Pittsburgh has accumulated 3-5 inches overnight. The weather event is expected to continue and extend through Monday morning. 

 

The Department of Public Works has 85 trucks currently treating the city roads. Four trucks went down overnight. Our crews will continue to work around the clock to focus on clearing and treating roads. 

1/24 5:04 PM Update

The South Side Market House Senior Active Living Senior Center will be open tomorrow, Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 8 AM until 6 PM.

The Department of Public Works have crews operating:

  • 2 PM - 10 PM: 35 Trucks Pretreating Roads
  • 10 PM - 6 AM: 65 Trucks
  • 6 AM - 2 PM: 85 Trucks

1/23 9:30 AM Update

Mayor Corey O’Connor provided an update on the City of Pittsburgh’s snow preparedness. Information is as of Friday morning. Key points include: 

  • 8,000 tons of salt in stock 
  • Snow Operations Center to open for senior leadership at the City-County Building 
  • 75 Public Works trucks are operational with plows and salt spreaders
  • 19 Public Works trucks are operational with plows OR salt spreaders 
  • Environmental Services pickup trucks will be equipped with plows after collections on Saturday
  • 311 Response Center will have live operators on Sunday, January 25 from 8 AM to 8 PM 
  • Forestry Division trucks will assist in snow operations
  • Refuse and Recycling collection suspended on Monday, January 26 and there will be a one-day collection delay through the end of the week
