Police, Fire, and EMS Rescue Man Trapped Under Backhoe

Summary:

Pittsburgh Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of St. Martin Street at around 5:30 p.m. for a male stuck under a rental backhoe behind the sloped yard of the house.

The male victim called 9-1-1 from his cell phone. He was alert and conscious when first responders arrived.

EMS Rescue 1 and 2, Pittsburgh Fire 24 Truck and 24 Engine personnel worked together to extricate the male as Police from Zone 3 blocked the road below the property to traffic.

The male, who is in his early sixties, was transported to the hospital by Medic 2 in serious, but stable condition with multiple leg fractures and dislocations.

Brosville Road below the property has reopened to traffic.
