Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh invites applicants for the 2026 Community Festival Program Grant beginning at 8 AM on Monday, March 9. Local community-based non-profits are encouraged to apply for the need-based reimbursement program by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
In existence since 1977, the Community Festival Program Grant has provided funding to help communities produce neighborhood-focused festivals for nearly 50 years. The program’s goal is to provide financial assistance to non-profit community groups so they may launch and develop an annual event to bring together their community and foster togetherness.
“We’re happy to once again support opportunities for our neighborhoods to come together,” said Eric Sloan, Director of Parks and Recreation. “Our local non-profits are integral in building spaces for connection and belonging, and we’re excited to see how this year’s grantees will continue to strengthen community pride.”
The 2026 Community Festival Program will once again provide 30 individual grants of up to $1,000 in reimbursements for events hosted by Pittsburgh community-based non-profit groups during the festival season, which runs from June 1 – October 31. The grant is coordinated each year through the CitiParks Office of Special Events.
To qualify for this grant, non-profits must have been in existence for 3 years, be hosting a one-day event in a City of Pittsburgh neighborhood, and be holding the event without conditional entry (ticket fees, donations, etc.). New events are highly encouraged to apply.
