Five warming centers are activated today at CitiParks Healthy Active Living Senior Centers. The South Side Market House is open from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Beechview, Greenfield, Homewood and Sheraden centers are open 11 AM to 6 PM.

Snow plow and removal crews are continuing to operate citywide and in business districts.

Five warming centers are activated today at CitiParks Healthy Active Living Senior Centers. Beechview, Greenfield, Homewood, Sheraden and South Side Market House will be open from 8 AM to 6 PM.
The Hazelwood, Lawrenceville, Morningside, Mount Washington and West End senior centers will be open for their normal hours of 8 AM - 4 PM. Glen Hazel is CLOSED today.

The Department of Public Works has had 45 vehicles and dozens of contractors out since this morning addressing roads and streets. Crews will work to clear tertiary streets and alleys, while continuing to work on widening main roads and plowing and salting secondary roads.

REMINDER update that Garbage and Recycling Collection is suspended this week.
Normal collections will resume Monday, February 2. Any residents with recycling collection this week will resume the week of February 9, 2026 as indicated on the Environmental Services Recycling Calendars.

Five warming centers are activated for today from 8 AM - 6 PM: Beechview, Homewood, Sheraden, South Side Market House Healthy Active Living Senior Centers. The Greenfield Healthy Active Living Senior Center will be a warming center from 8 AM - 5 PM today.
In addition, all are welcome at other CitiParks facilities during their regular hours:
Glen Hazel, Morningside and West End Healthy Active Living Senior Centers from 8 AM - 4 PM
Brookline, Phillips and Warrington Recreation Centers from 9 AM - 7 PM
Magee Recreation Center from 10 AM - 8 PM
Ammon Recreation Center from 11 AM - 7 PM

Overnight there will be around 50 DPW vehicles and 25 contractors plowing and treating roads citywide.
Garbage and recycling collection will be suspended all this week. Normal collections are expected to resume on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Four Healthy Active Living Senior Centers will be open as warming centers on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Beechview, Greenfield and Sheraden centers will be open from 11 AM - 6 PM. The South Side Market House will be open from 8 AM - 6 PM.
All are welcome at the Recreation Centers that will be open on Tuesday. Brookline, Philips and Warrington will be open from 11 AM - 7 PM. Magee will be open from 11 AM - 6 PM.

The Department of Public Works has mobilized local contractors to supplement snow removal efforts. There will be 35 city snow removal vehicles and 50 contractor vehicles clearing streets overnight. They will be focusing on business districts, including Downtown, and secondary residential streets. The City is asking for residents to avoid parking overnight in business districts or close to corners.

Environmental Services' refuse and recycling will be delayed another day this week as our crews continue to work on plowing and treating roads.
The collection days will shift as follows:
Regular collection on Monday will be on Wednesday.
Regular collection on Tuesday will be on Thursday.
Regular collection on Wednesday will be on Friday.
Regular collection on Thursday will be Saturday.
Regular collection on Friday will be Sunday.
Normal collections are expected to resume on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Reminder to all city residents that there will be no refuse or recycling collection tomorrow on Monday, January 26, 2026. Collection schedules will be on a one day delay through the end of the week.
City of Pittsburgh employees who can work from home have been instructed to do so tomorrow, Monday, January 25, 2026. Essential employees such as Public Works drivers and first responders will report in-person.

The City of Pittsburgh has accumulated 3-5 inches overnight. The weather event is expected to continue and extend through Monday morning.
The Department of Public Works has 85 trucks currently treating the city roads. Four trucks went down overnight. Our crews will continue to work around the clock to focus on clearing and treating roads.

Mayor Corey O’Connor provided an update on the City of Pittsburgh’s snow preparedness. Information is as of Friday morning. Key points include:
- 8,000 tons of salt in stock
- Snow Operations Center to open for senior leadership at the City-County Building
- 75 Public Works trucks are operational with plows and salt spreaders
- 19 Public Works trucks are operational with plows OR salt spreaders
- Environmental Services pickup trucks will be equipped with plows after collections on Saturday
- 311 Response Center will have live operators on Sunday, January 25 from 8 AM to 8 PM
- Forestry Division trucks will assist in snow operations
- Refuse and Recycling collection suspended on Monday, January 26 and there will be a one-day collection delay through the end of the week
