VCU Detectives Investigate Homicide in Middle Hill

Just after 6 p.m., Zone 2 officers were dispatched for a six round ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of Somers St.

Arriving units located a male in his 30s down on the street in the 2400 block of Webster Ave. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers performed CPR until Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS arrived on scene. Medics transported the victim to the hospital in grave condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police are searching for at least one suspect who fled the area on foot.

The Crime Scene Unit processed evidence at the scene and Violent Crime Unit detectives will continue with the investigation.
