VCU Detectives Investigate Homewood South Shooting

At 12:15 p.m., Zone 5 officers were dispatched for a 16-round ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of Susquehanna St., followed by 911 calls for a male shot.

A 17-year-old victim was located a short distance away in the 600 block of N. Homewood Ave. with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Medic 1 transported him to the hospital in stable condition.

Officers located multiple shell casings in the area of Susquehanna St. and Zenith Way. The scene was processed by the Mobile Crimes Unit.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
