Police Investigate Criminal Mischief Case Involving Racial Slur

Police from Zone 5 are investigating a case of criminal mischief in the 7600 block of Finance Street. Officers spoke with the victim who is the owner of an auto body shop at this location. He told police he arrived at work on the morning of January 21, 2026 to find a racial slur in black spray paint on the building and door. Next to the slur was written, "JUX WAS HURE, BBT D4C."

There was additional graffiti on the door, but it was not legible. All of the graffiti was done in the same black spray paint.

The owner said the last time he was at the building was on January 19.
