At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 1 officers responded to the 3900 block of Evergreen Road for a single vehicle collision.
Preliminary information indicates the adult female driver crossed onto the other side of the roadway before colliding with a utility pole.
Rescue 2 and Medic 10 utilized an Edraulic Rescue Tool to extricate the patient who was trapped inside the vehicle.
Pittsburgh EMS transported the victim, who had sustained a serious head injury, to the hospital in critical condition.
The Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
