At approximately 11:15 p.m., Pittsburgh Fire, Pittsburgh EMS, and Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 were dispatched to the 600 block of Danbury Street in the city’s Perry South neighborhood for a reported vehicle into a structure with a possible fire.

Arriving responders quickly located the scene and found the residential structure on fire.

The male driver told officers that he tried to avert an object in the road when he lost control of the vehicle. He subsequently collided with and came to a stop in the side of the house. The vehicle then caught on fire and the fire spread to the home, causing damage.

The male driver and vehicle passenger were both transported to an area hospital in stable condition with minor injuries.

A firefighter working the incident reported shortness of breath and was evaluated at the scene by Pittsburgh EMS paramedics. He returned to his duties within a short time.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident appears to be accidental in nature; no charges are expected.
