At 2:10 a.m., Pittsburgh Police responded to multiple ShotSpotter alerts, with a total of 25 shots fired in the area of Chauncey Drive and Bedford Avenue. Detectives monitoring cameras in the area observed multiple people shooting at each other.
Arriving units located two scenes. During the investigation they found a male victim being helped into a vehicle by a female. Police attempted to assist him, but the driver sped off toward the hospital. Police followed and later spoke with the male, who had been shot in the leg and was in stable condition.
He told them he was walking in the area of Bedford when he came across several people shooting at each other. He attempted to run away when he was struck.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
