City Offices to Close in Observance of Labor Day
Holiday Schedule for Refuse Collection and CitiParks Services
Pittsburgh, PA – In celebration of Labor Day, all City of Pittsburgh offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, as we honor the hardworking individuals who help keep our city thriving.
Refuse, Bulk Waste & Recycling Collection Schedule
There will be no refuse, bulk waste, or recycling collection on Monday, September 1, 2025 (for those on a recycling week). Collection will follow a one-day delay for the remainder of the week.:
- Residents receiving serviced on Monday, September 1 will be serviced on Tuesday, September 2.
- Those receiving serviced on Tuesday, September 2 will be serviced on Wednesday, September 3, and so on throughout the week.
CitiParks Facility Holiday Schedule
Several CitiParks facilities will observe adjusted hours or closures in recognition of the holiday weekend:
Closed Facilities:
- Healthy Active Living Centers: Closed Monday, September 1 (Regular hours resume Tuesday, September 2)
- Recreation Centers: Closed Saturday, August 30 and Monday, September 1 (Regular hours resume Tuesday, September 2)
- Mellon Park Tennis Center: Closed from 12 PM on Sunday, August 31 through Monday, September 1
- Schenley Park Rink: Closed Sunday, August 31 through Monday, September 1
- East End Farmers Market: Closed Monday, September 1
Open Facilities:
- Spray Parks: Open Monday, September 1
- Swimming Pools: Open Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1
- Pools: Ammon, Bloomfield, Highland, Jack Stack, Moore, Ream, and Schenley
- 12–1 PM: Adult Lap Swim (Highland begins at 11 AM)
- Note: Ammon Pool is open on weekends only; Schenley Pool does not offer lap swim due to size restrictions
A friendly reminder: The outdoor pool season concludes on Monday, September 1, 2025.
