The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police was notified of an armed kidnapping that was reported to the Plum Boro Police Department at approximately 6:15 p.m. Officers later located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in Greenfield. The incidents are believed to be related. A family member told Plum Police that his brother had been kidnapped by two armed suspects who were demanding ransom money. The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police began tracking the victim's cellphone, which was last identified in the Hazelwood area. At approximately 7:10, a witness called 911 to report observing several males involved in an altercation, followed by the sound of gunshots. Responding officers located the victim in the 900 block of Deely Street with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim informed officers that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle following the shooting. Pittsburgh EMS transported the victim to the hospital in stable condition. VCU detectives are on scene. The Mobile Crime Unit is processing the location for evidence. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
