UPDATE: On August 4, 2026 Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit detectives apprehended Ronald Stanford, 18, on a warrant in connection with this incident. Stanford is charged with Criminal Homicide, Firearms Not To Be Carried Without A License, and four counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person. He was transported to the Allegheny Jail.
Original incident details:
At approximately 9:50 pm, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 5 officers responded to the 2200 block of Wilner Drive for a reported shooting.
Preliminary information indicates that an argument ensued outside at which time shots were fired, striking an adult male victim in the abdomen. The actor is believed to have fled the area on foot.
Officers immediately rendered first aid upon arrival, unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene shortly after 10:00 p.m.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to the location and recovered 6 shell casings. Homicide detectives are conducting an active, ongoing search for the suspect.
The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
