Police Investigate Homewood Homicide Following ShotSpotter Alert

At 9:48 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to a 1-round ShotSpotter notification on Neuman Way near Felicia Way in Homewood.

Responding officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound to the right side of his throat. They immediately rendered aid by using quikclot gauze and applying pressure to the wound until Pittsburgh EMS and Fire arrived. Medics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded as critical, but stable.

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene. At this time there is no description of the actor or actors and no witnesses.

Violent Crime Unit detectives will continue with the investigation.
