Just after 11:00 p.m., the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police from Zone 2 were dispatched to the intersection of Jumonville Street and the Boulevard of the Allies in response to a report of an individual suffering from facial injuries.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with multiple lacerations to the face, consistent with being pistol-whipped. The male was reportedly dropped off at the location by a private vehicle that fled the area.

Pittsburgh EMS transported the male, who was alert and speaking with medics, to a local hospital in critical condition. His condition was later upgraded to stable.

VCU Detectives are working to determine where the incident occurred.

The investigation remains active and ongoing
