Detectives Investigate Shooting at the Waterworks Shopping Center

At approximately 11:25 p.m., Zone 5 officers were informed by dispatch of a male who had arrived at a local hospital by private means with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and groin areas.

The victim was life-flighted to a level one trauma center where he arrived in critical condition.

Officers located a crime scene in the parking lot area behind Anytime Fitness in the 900 block of Freeport Road.

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene and the Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
