Just before 2:00 p.m. on August 26, Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 were dispatched to the city’s Mount Washington neighborhood for reports of a home burglary.
Arriving officers were met by the two occupants of the home who reported to police that they were away from the home from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They reported they left the home with the doors locked and the garage door closed. When they returned, the garage door was open and a window had been broken by a rock.
The occupants reported that approximately $150,000-$200,000 worth of jewelry and designer bags were missing from the residence.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process all evidence at the scene.
There are no arrests at this time. Zone 3 plainclothes detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
