At approximately 7:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to a six-round ShotSpotter alert in the unit block of Mayflower Street in the city’s Larimer neighborhood.
An adult male was located with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Officers applied a dressing bandage in an attempt to slow the bleeding. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was immediately taken into surgery.
A crime scene was located in the rear of Mayflower Street, on Emans Way. The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process the scene, including recovered shell casings.
No arrests have been made at this time. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
