At approximately 2:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5, Pittsburgh Fire, and Pittsburgh EMS were dispatched to the 7100 block of Mount Vernon Street in Homewood North for a one-round ShotSpotter alert.
Arriving officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers immediately began to render aid until medics arrived at the scene.
The male victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition by Pittsburgh EMS.
The Mobile Crime Unit arrived to process all evidence at the scene.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating. There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
