UPDATE: Police Investigate After Teen Shot and Killed in Knoxville

UPDATE: Police arrested Khyree Harper, 17, of Pittsburgh (Act 33) in connection with this incident.
Harper is charged with Criminal Homicide and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.
He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.

Pittsburgh Police officers from Zone 3 were dispatched to the 100 block of Rochelle Street for a ShotSpotter alert, followed by a 9-1-1 call at 1:09 p.m. Arriving units located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a house.

Officers rendered life-saving aid to the male, but he was pronounced deceased by medics a short time later.

Police have detained a person of interest for questioning.

There is no ongoing threat to the public.

Violent Crime Unit detectives will continue with the investigation.
