Special Victims Unit Makes Arrest in Juvenile Trafficking Case

Special Victims Unit detectives, working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force—comprised of partner agencies including the United States Marshals, Allegheny County Sheriffs, and Allegheny County Police Department—, Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Pittsburgh SWAT, made an arrest in a case involving a juvenile victim missing from another state.

On October 30, 2025, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Special Victims Unit received a report initiated by United States Marshals that a juvenile female victim from Louisiana was at an address in the 1200 block of Davis Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained a federal search warrant for the residence, which was executed by Pittsburgh Bureau of Police SWAT.

Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, of Pittsburgh was charged with numerous felony and misdemeanor charges including trafficking in individuals, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, and corruption of minors.

He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he was denied bail.

This remains an active and ongoing federal investigation.
