UPDATE: Please see correction in bold below. It was not a teacher, but a staff member who discovered the gun when preparing the lunches, which had not yet been handed out to the children.
On June 5, 2024, Pittsburgh Public Schools Police contacted the Pittsburgh Police Special Victims Unit to report that a 3-year-old child had brought a loaded gun in a lunch bag to Pittsburgh Morrow Pre-K in Brighton Heights.
A staff member discovered it when preparing to hand out the lunch bags.
Pittsburgh Police are working closely with Pittsburgh Public Schools.
There is no word at this time on whether charges will be filed against parents or guardians.
The investigation is ongoing.
