Date: May 3, 2024 Incident Type: Collision Location: Zone 6 Summary:
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6, EMS, and Fire responded to Steuben Street at Elbon Street for reports of a vehicle that had struck a house.
Arriving units located an SUV with two adults and a 9-year-old boy inside that crashed into the porch of a house. Rescue crews extricated the driver, a female in her 70's, from the vehicle. Medics transported her to the hospital in stable condition with an injury to her left arm.
An adult male and the boy were unhurt. They were picked up by family members and taken to the hospital to be with the female patient. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Inspectors with PLI condemned the porch area of the house and Public Works crews placed barricades around the damaged area. The house was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Police will investigate the exact cause.
