At 12:40 a.m., Pittsburgh Police responded to a ShotSpotter notification at North Commons and Federal Street.
Arriving units located a male victim down in the grass with a gunshot wound to the back. Pittsburgh EMS transported him to the hospital in critical, but stable condition.
Police detained a suspect and one firearm was recovered on scene.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
