Police Arrest Two, Recover Firearms in the Hill District

Summary:

Violence Prevention Unit detectives conducting an investigation in the Hill District arrested two males in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive just after 10:15 p.m.

As officers were taking one male with a firearm into custody, a second male ran from the area and fired several shots in the air in an attempt to distract police. He was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit.

Two firearms and five bricks of heroin were recovered.

Rama Davenport-Grant,18, was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, resisting arrest, and evading arrest or detention.

Sha-Ron Rue, 30, was charged with persons not to possess, possession with intent to deliver, tampering with evidence, and multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Crime Scene Unit detectives processed the scene.

VPU detectives are handling the investigation.
