Pittsburgh Police Detectives Investigate Fatal Overnight Shooting in E

Summary:

Just before 4:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 8000 block of Bennett Street in East Hills for three separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling twenty-eight-rounds.

Arriving officers located an adult male with two gunshot wounds to his head. He was transported in critical condition by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.

At approximately 4:45 a.m., an adult male walked in to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. He was in stable condition and his injuries are believed to be connected with the shooting incident on Bennett Street.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene, including multiple recovered shell casings and all available video footage.

Violent Crime Unit detectives were also called to the scene to investigate. The investigation in ongoing.
