Date: September 24, 2023 Incident Type: Bomb threat Location: Zone 1 Summary:
At 1:50 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 1 responded to the Warhol Museum on Sandusky Street for a bomb threat made to that location. The threat was made via email and came in from a third party located in Harrisburg, PA.
Police made contact with museum security and a decision was made to evacuate the building.
Explosives K9s were called in to search the building. No explosives were found and the museum was deemed safe.
The Pittsburgh Police Intelligence Unit is working closely with the FBI to investigate similar threats made to other jurisdictions.
