At approximately 9:00 p.m., a K9 officer en route to a burglary call lost control of the vehicle on a curve and struck a pole at Lemington Ave. and Paulson Ave.
The officer was not seriously injured.
The K9 was taken to a veterinarian to be examined for any injuries.
Per policy with reportable collisions involving police vehicles, mandatory drug and alcohol testing will be conducted.
