Citiparks To Open 6 Cooling Centers July 24 - 25 Amid Extreme Temps

Pittsburgh, PA – In response to forecasted temperatures expected to exceed 90 degrees for Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25, 2025, CitiParks will activate six Healthy Active Living Centers as Cooling Centers. 

These six centers will provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned environment to escape the heat on Thursday and Friday from 8 AM – 7 PM: 

Beechview Healthy Active Living Community Center  

1555 Broadway Avenue

Brighton Heights Healthy Active Living Community Center  

3515 McClure Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15212  


Greenfield Healthy Active Living Community Center  

745 Greenfield Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15217  


Homewood Healthy Active Living Community Center  

7321 Frankstown Road

Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center  

720 Sherwood Avenue

South Side Healthy Active Living Community Center

All residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with underlying health conditions.  

Note: CitiParks and the City of Pittsburgh will typically activate cooling centers when the forecasted highs are predicted to be above 90 degrees.
