When are trash and recycling days?

My trash wasn’t picked up today. When can I get it collected?

If you properly set out your trash on pickup day and it is acceptable by Environmental Services Standards, you can call 311 and alert them of the issue. They will send a truck to pick up leftover trash.

My sidewalk is broken. What should I do?

Call or email your concerns to our office: 412-255-2131 or District4@pittsburghpa.gov.

It’s snowing and I haven’t seen a salt truck. What should I do?

Please allow our Department of Public Works up to 24 hours after it begins snowing to salt and plow the roads. If more than 24 hours have passed, please submit a 311 request here or call 3-1-1.

People are driving too fast down my street. How can I request speed bumps?

Use this traffic calming request form provided by the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure.

My street needs to be resurfaced. How does that work?

Submit a 311 request here and please specify the kind of street (asphalt, concrete, cobblestone, etc.) and the cross streets. It is important to identify the specific section of the road you want resurfaced to help the city repair it.

What is a Registered Community Organization (RCO)?

Can I speak at a City Council meeting?

Yes! There is a period of public comment at the beginning of each City Council public meeting. Each individual is allotted three minutes to speak and can register using this form. Unregistered speakers are also welcome to speak after registered speakers are done.

I’m looking for a job with the City of Pittsburgh. Where can I find open listings?

I got a letter in the mail saying the city is going to fine me. What does this mean?

This is generally a warning letter to alert you to some kind of code violation that needs to be corrected. There is time afforded to residents to correct the issues.
