Mission Statement

The mission of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is to safeguard lives, property, and the environment for the residents, visitors and businesses in our community. We achieve this through advanced fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazard mitigation, rescue operations, dynamic emergency management, disaster response and proactive domestic preparedness, while prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all our efforts. We are committed to leveraging the latest technologies, training, practices, and procedures to enhance response capabilities and delivery of our services.

Girls Firefighter Camp

In 2022 City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire started a Girls Firefighter Camp to expose young girls to the career of firefighting. They host a weeklong camp during the summer to learn about leadership, team building, physical fitness, nutrition, CPR, and what it takes to be a Firefighter.
