UPDATE: Police Investigate Friendship Homicide

UPDATE: Police arrested Eric Henderson, 44, in this incident. He was charged with criminal homicide and is being held at the ACJ.

At approximately 8:25 p.m., Zone 5 officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of S. Aiken Ave. for reports of a male found unresponsive and bleeding from the head.

Responding units located the victim, who is in his early 60s, on the first floor of the home. He had suffered significant trauma to the head and face and was pronounced deceased by medics upon their arrival.

Officers conducted a protective sweep of the residence in search of any other victims or possible actors. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
