UPDATE #2: Jerome Thompson, 44, of North Versailles has been arrested in connection with this incident. He faces a number of charges, including criminal homicide. He remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
UPDATE: The victim in this incident was pronounced dead at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to the 2300 block of East Hills Drive for a report of a victim with a gunshot wound.
Arriving officers located an adult male with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Pittsburgh EMS transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
The victim was not able to provide a description of the actor.
The Mobile Crime Unit processed all evidence on scene.
Violent Crime Unit Detectives are investigating. An investigation is ongoing.
