Police Arrest Male For Lighting Fires on North Side and Downtown

At approximately 7:30 am, police were first dispatched to the area of  Reedsdale St. on the North Side for reports of a suspicious male and a male walking with an open flame. 
Fire Investigation Unit detectives were then called for a male spotted lighting the side of a trash can on fire by the casino before leaving the area. Subsequent to that call, detectives noticed some traffic cones that had been burned on Reedsdale.  
A short time later, a male was seen outside the Downtown Public Safety Center throwing a lit sparkler under a police vehicle on Wood Street. Officers took him into custody on Stanwix Street at Blvd. of the Allies as he was lighting a piece of cardboard on fire.
Jeffrey Rotunda, 36, faces multiple charges including arson and criminal mischief. He was transported to the ACJ.
