Pittsburgh Fire Responds to One-Alarm Fire in the Bluff

At approximately 7:00 a.m., Pittsburgh firefighters responded to a 1-alarm fire in the 1800 block of 5th Avenue.

A 911 caller reported seeing smoke pouring out of the structure’s roof. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames coming from a third-story window and quickly worked to extinguish the fire. The building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

One firefighter sustained a minor ankle injury and was transported to the hospital in stable condition by Pittsburgh EMS.

The Fire Investigation Unit was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

An investigation is ongoing.
