Just before 1:00 a.m., Pittsburgh River Rescue, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, the Fire Boat, and the Fire Investigative Unit (FIU) responded to a reported boat fire on the Allegheny River between the Andy Warhol and Rachel Carson bridges.
Upon arrival, crews found the boat fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by approximately 1:15 a.m. The boat has since sunk.
River Rescue searched the area but was unable to locate anyone on the boat or in the water nearby.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Real Time Crime Center identified video showing an individual boarding the boat and fleeing the scene shortly before the fire occurred.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has been notified of the incident.
