At approximately 10:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Davis Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue in the Brighton Heights neighborhood for reports of an injured person lying in the roadway.

Responders arrived to the scene and located an adult male victim in the street with significant trauma to the head. Pittsburgh EMS transported the victim in critical condition to an area hospital, where, unfortunately, they were pronounced deceased a short time later.

The preliminary investigation indicates the injuries are consistent with those of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. No vehicle remained at the scene.

Collision Investigation Unit detectives were called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
