Just before 6:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5, Pittsburgh Fire, and Pittsburgh EMS were dispatched to the unit block of Auburn Street for two separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling thirteen rounds. While en route, dispatch updated officers that calls had come in for a female gunshot victim.
After arriving at the scene, an adult female was located inside of a residence with a gunshot wound to her left thigh/buttock area. She was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition.
The residence where the victim was located also sustained bullet damage.
A crime scene was located on the street, where multiple shells casings were recovered.
No other damage was located and no other victims reported any injuries.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process evidence. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
The investigation is ongoing.
