UPDATE: Pittsburgh Police Arrest Carjacking Suspect on the North Side

UPDATE: Aaron Morris, 20, faces felony counts of Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing and Eluding, Aggravated Assault, as well as Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Resisting Arrest, Accident Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle, Disorderly Conduct, and multiple traffic-related charges.

Just after 5:23 p.m., Pittsburgh Police Zone 1 detectives witnessed a carjacking in the area of Middle Street and E. Ohio.
The male suspect then led police north on I-279 before heading back into the city into Oakland and down to the Strip District where officers terminated the pursuit due to the large number of pedestrians and heavy vehicle traffic.
The suspect then drove through Downtown and back over to the North Side where he was taken into custody at E. North and Middle Street after the vehicle was remotely disabled by OnStar.
The suspect told police he was under the influence of narcotics at the time of his arrest. Officers transported him to the hospital for evaluation before he could be transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
The stolen vehicle was towed for processing. The female victim was not injured.
The suspect faces multiple charges and the investigation is ongoing.
