Date: September 8, 2024 Incident Type: Shooting Location: Zone 5 Summary:
Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to Brushton Ave. at Bennett St. at 9:51 p.m. for a two-round ShotSpotter alert. Seconds later, a female arrived in her vehicle at Pittsburgh Fire Engine 17 with a gunshot wound to her side. Firefighters rendered aid until the victim was transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition. Police are reviewing video retrieved of the initial incident and searching for a smaller SVU that is white in color. The Mobile Crime Unit is processing evidence at Brushton and Bennett and the victim's vehicle outside Engine 17. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
