Date: May 14, 2024 Incident Type: Shots Fired Location: Zone 4 Summary:
Just before 5:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 4 were dispatched to the 6300 block of Morrowfield Avenue in the Squirrel Hill South neighborhood for reports of shots fired.
Witnesses told arriving officers that they observed two vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed with one vehicle firing shots toward the other. Both vehicles fled the scene.
A third vehicle, driven by an innocent party, was hit by gunfire. The adult male driver sustained a minor graze wound to his shoulder. He was treated on scene by medics, and declined to be transported.
There were three minor children in the third vehicle. None sustained any injuries.
The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence, including recovered shell casings and any available video footage.

The investigation is ongoing.
