Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS Respond to Vehicle Versus Pedestrian

Summary:

Just before 7:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS responded to Forbes Avenue near Denniston Street in Squirrel Hill for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

Arriving responders located an adult female pedestrian in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim sustained a head injury as well as injuries to both of her legs.

A bystander rendered aid until medics arrived on the scene.

She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition by Pittsburgh EMS.

The initial investigation indicates the pedestrian attempted to cross Forbes Avenue mid-block near Denniston Street. She was not in a designated crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers.

The Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
