Published on June 15, 2026
Pittsburgh, PA – The Department of Parks and Recreation will honor Juneteenth and African American heritage with City-hosted events across the city between June 15 – 27.
The City’s Juneteenth events include celebrations, activities and more for residents and families to enjoy, including co-hosting a Juneteenth celebration event with WAMO 107.3 on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Highland Park. For over 30 years, WAMO has been hosting Pittsburgh Juneteenth celebrations, with the first organized event in 1993.
The finale event will feature entertainment, vendors, and activities for all ages, including performances from WAMO’s Future Flava artists Lia, Harlan Tobe Jr. and Harley Dyse, with additional family-friendly fun from House of Waxx, Living Treasures Wild Animal Park and Cheat Code Gaming Truck. Local art and food vendors will also be on site with items for purchase. The festivities will also recognize WAMO 107.3 on-air host Ki Ki B. Jones for her lasting impact and contributions to the City.
“Ki Ki’s leadership at WAMO 107.3 is shown through her passion for the station’s heritage and history. She constantly brings forward new ideas driven by a strong interest in the station and the listeners in the region," said Michael Spacciapolli, Regional Vice President of Audacy. "Her focus is always on doing what is best for the community, ensuring WAMO remains a vital local voice. WAMO has played a vital role in elevating and celebrating Juneteenth in Pittsburgh since 1993, and we’re proud to continue that legacy through our partnerships including with the City of Pittsburgh.
