Pittsburgh, PA – CitiParks invites families from across the region to join the celebration of the 24th Annual Alphabet Trail and Tales Event on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Frick Park’ Blue Slide Playground entrance (Beechwood Blvd. & Nicholson Street).
This free, family-friendly event brings stories to life with interactive sets, live readings, music, games, arts and crafts, and more — all designed to foster a love of reading in children of all ages. Now in its 24th year, Alphabet Trail and Tales is the largest read-aloud event in Western Pennsylvania and a cherished Pittsburgh tradition.
“This event is a beloved tradition that brings families together to celebrate the joy of reading in a fun and engaging way,” said Kathryn Vargas, Director of CitiParks. “We’re excited to welcome everyone for a fun-filled day of exploring the Alphabet Trail, enjoying a variety of storytellers, and taking part in a range of creative activities.”
