CITY OFFICES CLOSED AND REFUSE COLLECTION SUSPENDED IN OBSERVANCE OF MLK JR. DAY 

Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and refuse collection will be delayed one day. 

Refuse collections will proceed as follows: Residents with a scheduled collection day of Monday will be serviced on Tuesday, January 21.  Those with a scheduled collection day of Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday, January 22, and so on through Saturday, January 25, 2025. 

The schedule shall proceed as follows:                                                             

  • If your scheduled day of collection is Monday, January 20, 2025, you will be serviced Tuesday, January 21, 2025 
  • If your scheduled day of collection is Tuesday, January 21, 2025, you will be serviced Wednesday, January 22, 2025  
  • If your scheduled day of collection is Wednesday, January 22, 2025, you will be serviced Thursday, January 23, 2025 
  • If your scheduled day of collection is Thursday, January 23, 2025, you will be serviced Friday, January 24, 2025      
  • If your scheduled day of collection is Friday, January 24, 2025, you will be serviced Saturday, January 25, 2025

CitiParks will have the following closures/ schedule: 

HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING SENIOR CENTERS 

  • Monday, January 20, 2025—CLOSED 

RECREATION CENTERS 

  • Saturday, January 18 through Monday, January 20, 2025--CLOSED 

AFTER-SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM 

  • In conjunction with the PPS Schedule, the After-School Feeding Program (CACFP) will not be in operation on Monday, January 20, 2025.  Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. 

MELLON PARK TENNIS BUBBLE 

  • Open 7 AM to 10 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025. 

SCHENLEY PARK SKATING RINK 

  • Open—Public Skating Session:  4 to 5:30 PM
