Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS Holds Promotion Ceremony in Council Chambers
PITTSBURGH —The Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS held a promotion and swearing-in ceremony in Council Chambers on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Mayor Ed Gainey administered the oath of office to promote an emergency medical technician to paramedic, Ashton Szymarek, and six paramedics to Crew Chief: Matthew Fisher, Brianna Kramer, Matt Brantner, Cora Brna, Nicholas Okwiya, and Paul Feightner.
EMS Chief Amera Gilchrist told all of those who were being promoted they are the reason the Bureau continues to thrive and succeed.
“Each one of you has earned the distinct honor and privilege to be here. Over the next few months, you’ll undergo extensive training to be positioned as leaders within the Bureau and our community. I couldn’t be prouder.”
The entire Department of Public Safety congratulates all those who were promoted and thanks them for their service to the City of Pittsburgh.
