VPU Detectives Make Arrest Regarding Traffic Stop and Collision

Pittsburgh Violence Prevention Unit Detectives made an arrest on November 20, 2025, in connection with a traffic stop that originated in the East Hills neighborhood and the subsequent collision involving five vehicles in Wilkinsburg.

Dior Richardson, 37, of Pennsylvania, faces the following felony charges in connection with this incident: two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He also faces the following misdemeanor charges: seven counts of simple assault and ten counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Additional summary offenses include obedience to traffic control devices, driving on the right side of the roadway, overtaking a vehicle on the left, driving on roadways' lanes for traffic, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, reckless driving, windshield obstructions, and failure to use required restraint systems.

Pittsburgh EMS and mutual aid responded to the scene. Nine individuals were reported to have been injured, with six transported to the hospital. All were reported to have been in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
