UPDATE: Police Investigate Homicide in Homewood North

UPDATE: Homicide detectives have arrested Shawn Collins, 54, of Pittsburgh and an arrest warrant has been issued for Lavelle Johnson, 33, of Braddock, PA in connection with this incident.

Collins is charged with Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy, Robbery, and Persons not to Possess. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.

Lavelle Johnson faces charges of Criminal Homicide, Criminal Conspiracy, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, and Persons not to Possess.

Just after 2 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 responded to the 7300 block of Monticello Street for a 10-round ShotSpotter alert. Arriving units located an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds outside of a running vehicle.

Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene. A short time later, a second male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was last listed in critical, but stable condition. The Mobile Crime Unit located several shell casings at the scene and one firearm was recovered. There are no arrests at this time. Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
