SVU Detectives Arrest Male in Aggravated Assault of Baby in His Care

On Saturday July 19, 2025, Pittsburgh Police Homicide detectives arrested Dominic Pinnick, 18, of Pittsburgh, following the aggravated assault of a 10-month-old baby left in his care the previous evening, in the 7100 block of Kedron St. 
Pinnick was interviewed at Pittsburgh Police Headquarters and subsequently charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, three felony counts of Aggravated Assault, Endangering the Welfare of Children, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. 
The child has since passed away at the hospital. Charges are expected to be upgraded to Homicide. 
Pinnick is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail. 
The baby's name and official cause and manner of death will be released by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.
